North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence and the New Zealand China Trade Association co-host the ‘China Business Breakfast’ series to provide a platform for business leaders to share their China journeys with their peers in an informal and enjoyable setting.

Our next breakfast will explore the journey of New Milk, one of New Zealand’s most successful homegrown dairy processing businesses, and the result of a longstanding NZ-China partnership.

NZ New Milk Ltd is a consumer-ready infant formula manufacturer. Co-founded in 2011 by Kai Zhang and David Spurway, the company employs 300 staff worldwide producing 8 million units of consumer-ready dairy product for the Chinese, Australian and international markets. David and Kai have navigated exceptional growth in challenging market conditions to achieve a revenue of greater than $100 million.

David and Kai, both engineering graduates from the University of Auckland, will share their early experiences working on dairy engineering projects in China and New Zealand, starting and building New Milk, and their recent acquisition by Lactalis Group, the world’s largest dairy company.
