The inaugural NA Cape Secondary Schools' Conference 2018 brought together secondary-school students studying Korean and Japanese for a one-day language and culture conference at the University of Auckland.

Students participated in language workshops, and have the chance to practice their language skills in a fun and social environment. They'll also get a taste of North Asian history, culture, and economics.

The conference demonstrated the value of second-language acquisition to the students’ future careers and their understanding of the world, and let them experience language learning at the tertiary level.

For teachers of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, we offered professional development sessions in language teaching, and facilitate cultural integration and language-specific workshops for exchanging ideas and best practices.

The one-day conference included plenary lectures, breakout sessions, and provide plenty of opportunity for collaboration, conversation, and connection.
