The NA CAPE is pleased to support our inaugural Public Policy internships to China. Building off the sister-city relationships, we will offer ten young professionals and recent graduates the opportunity to participate in a four week programme in Jiangxi Province in China.

The first two weeks will be attending Jiangxi Normal University, studying language and culture. This is followed by two weeks interning in local foreign affairs offices in the region.

The programme is open to all recent graduates, postgraduate students and young professionals (within five years of graduation) with a desire to learn about public policy and diplomacy by competitive application.

Applicants do not need to have a background in Chinese language, they should however have an interest in learning about China.

Those currently working in local government are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand
  • Applicants are available to travel between April 13 and May 15, 2020

Applications for the 2020 Public Policy Internship programme are now closed.

Please note, if you are selected to participate in the internship, you will have to show a valid Medical Certificate/Clearance indicating fit to travel.
