The Salvation Army in its 2019 State of the Nation report 'Are you well? Are we safe? uses the government's approach to wellbeing to report on New Zealand's social progress. The report attempts to draw attention to the challenges of defining wellbeing and the policy intentions behind this focus, along with drawing attention to the substantial and persistent inequality between Māori and Non-Māori.
The report's authority Alan Johnson will outline the report's analysis and findings and consider Māori Non-Māori inequalities as a moral challenge for all New Zealanders.
